The Cape Town city centre has been a hive of activity as thousands witnessed the switching on of Christmas lights.
Known as the festival of lights, its one of the most sought-after calendar events by Capetonians.
Mayor Patricia de Lille says the lights this year are celebrated under the theme “We Love Africa”.
